The 2020 Franco-fun Festival
AFFNO will celebrate the Franco-fun Festival February 21 to 23. The highlight, as usual, is the Franco-fun Brunch, and this will take place on Sunday, February 23, at the Hirsch Creek Golf & Winter Club from noon to 2 p.m. As always, we will serve up traditional cuisine such as tourtières, sugar pies, maple syrup, etc. … and of course, toffee on the snow for the kids. During the brunch, Fanny Starchild will provide the music. Our festival will start at Kildala Elementary on Friday, February 21. Fanny Starchild will perform in French (with a bit of English thrown in for the students who don’t speak French) during the morning, and then, the Carnaval events will happen after lunch. On Saturday, Fanny Starchild will present a bilingual childrens’ magic show at the Kitimat Public Library at 1 p.m., and yes, the show is free and open to the entire community! Tickets (for Sunday) cost $15 per adult, $10 per child (ages 6-12), and $5 for small children (aged 3-5). Tickets are available at the Kitimat Public Library, and also at Hirsch Creek (in the restaurant). This year, we have 140 tickets to sell (last year it was 120). We are hoping that you will join us!
